Police Blotter: Gang Sweep Results in 54 Arrests

According to a San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department news release, on February 13, from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, the Highland Police Department with the help of The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Enforcement Division, as well as deputies from The Sheriff’s Department’s Central Station, Chino Hills Station, Rancho Cucamonga Station, Big Bear Station, Twin Peaks Station, Fontana Station and Yucaipa Station conducted saturation patrols in the City of Highland.

Areas that were given the highest priority were areas known to be frequented by gang members and areas that have had several violent crimes during the past month.

A total of 54 arrests were made. 31 warrant arrests, three for parole violations, 10 misdemeanor arrests and eight felony arrests. Nine arrests were made for possession of narcotics.

According to the release, John Lamb, age 40, was arrested for felony evading, DUI and resisting arrest. Gilbert Reyes, age 24, was arrested on an attempted murder warrant stemming from a shooting at Baseline and McKinley in the city on January 17.

The Highland Police Department, with the help of other San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department stations, will continue to conduct saturation patrols in the City of Highland.
